A special movie night featuring Bebington an Merseyside.

On the 9th of September a local Bebington group will be bringing you a fascinating movie night as part of the Wirral History and Heritage Association and National Heritage Open Days.

We spoke to organiser, James Chalmers, to find out all about the Swan Movie group and their FREE movie night.

“We meet on the second and fourth Fridays of each month – our new season starts in September 9th at 7:30 in the small hall at Victoria Hall. These are very much social events rather than one for serious filmmakers. Most of the members no longer make films. But we draw on material from other clubs and the wider film making community.

[We] Also run a national competition and inter-club competitions. There will be details on the film programme on Sept 9th about the club. We’d really like new members. The meeting on October 28th will be an open evening for anyone interested in joining – when we’ll show case the full range of club activities. Visitors normally pay £3 (includes £1 for refreshments) But on this evening there will be just the refreshment charge”.

So if you have an interest in local history or consider yourself to be quite the amateur film making this is an event not to be missed!

If you have your own event you would like to share with the community why not head over to our diary and send us your event details.
